March 24th: Dark Forces
I wondered what my favorite Card to write about was, and it was a lot harder
than I thought. I mentioned Fantasy was probably my favorite, but thinking back,
I realized I had a lot of fun with some of the dark forces, and it was a trip
down the memory lane for me. I actually sort of forgot Wolfie-chan was a Card.
Lol. I was missing Wolfie-chan lately too hence started unintentionally doodling
a Wolfie-centric picture
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_DeFs3n6Ld7g/S4o5DN7X6HI/AAAAAAAAAIU/wbINeDB9sqM/s1600-\h/sakura_syaoran_pup.jpg with my new Wacom Intuos but never ended up actually
finishing it.
Chapter 65 is 90% complete. Aiming for the end of the week, but no guarantees.
>.< My computer crashed once while I was writing but luckily I didn't lose too
much writing. It annoyed me so much though to have to rewrite stuff because my
memory is just not what it used to be. Spending half an arc writing about the
Memory Card has made me scared that I might forget the plot of New Trials. Lol.
I should write a plot summary of what happens in the end and then do those
automated blog entries set to ten years later, so that if anything happens to
me, the ending can be revealed someday.
Yes, I'm procrastinating writing write now. ^_^
April 1st: Happy Birthday Sakura + Ch 65 Up
Once again, Happy Birthday to are darling Card Captor Sakura (and Watanuki and
TRC!Syaoran).
You probably all suspected it... Chapter 65: Cohabitation, Part Deux, is up. It
took a long time, but it's also pretty long. ^_^ As usual, it's Version 1.
Happy April's Fool Day (no, the chapter's real. lol ^_^)

April 2nd: Chibi-S&S Bunny Fanart
Hi,
My belated birthday fanart for Sakura-chan. It's chibi-Syaoran and Sakura.
http://wishluv.deviantart.com/art/Chibi-Sakura-x-Syaoran-Bunnies-159235567
It's sort of a spoiler for Chapter 65 but not really. Yes, the whole scene
(those who have read it) was included just so that I can draw this fanart. Lol.
Anyhow, Happy Easter Weekend!

April 13th: The Age Card + NadeRyuu Fanarts
I've been going through my old files and posting/ finishing off old fanart from
my dead laptop that have been sitting around in my New Trials folder forever.
I posted up a Syaoran and Sakura fanart from Chapter 42, when Sakura is affected
by the Age Card:
http://wishluv.deviantart.com/art/The-Age-Sakura-and-Syaoran-160559871
There's also a NadeRyuu (so coined by Kirei-chan) fanart up as well
http://wishluv.deviantart.com/art/Nadeshiko-and-Li-Ryuuren-159868316
I usually work on at least 20 New Trials fanarts at a time and there are
probably at least that many that I haven't uploaded yet. Lol. My current
favorite projects are a Tomoyo and Eriol fanart and an S+S+E one... If there are
any characters you do want to see, please do let me know. They are probably
sitting around on my New Trials folder somewhere in sketch form. :)
Oh, and I almost finished catching up to emails. I love reading all the
discussions especially regarding Eron-kun and Leiyun. :) On to writing Chapter
66... This are going to get interesting.

August 29th: Early Days of NT
HTML makes me want to cry...
I remember in the beginning days of New Trials, I used to have some issues with
glitches in code because I used a Korean computer... Some day, I plan on doing
some major editing. Lol. Actually, when I look back at all the different
formatting in NT, that makes me want to cry too. I remember how crazy all the
paragraph spacing and whatnot used to drive me (when all I wanted to do was
share a new chapter as soon as possible). Anyhow, if anyone has a solution,
please do enlighten me, or else I'll try fixing manually.
That [Small Wolf’s Most Precious Birthday] chapter reminds me... It's written
way back from summer 2001. I was away inXXX summer school in the States
(very fun days). The only internet connection I had was at school, so I remember
sneaking chapters to the school computer lab on a floppy disk (remember those?),
and scanned pictures on the school computer, all very surreptitiously. Ah, those days
before wireless internet. It wasn't like I was doing anything wrong, but I don't know
why I felt like I had to sneak around. And then I had about 15 minutes every day to
check all the reviews on one of those standing library computers. It was such a
doki-doki feeling reading reviews on a school computer, for some reason (those days
of limited internet access). And my friend I was rooming with messed with my laptop
(my first laptop, a IBM Thinkpad, I think, useful only for basic things like Word
Documents and my first Photoshop projects) while I was out of the room, and when
I came back to see a blue screen of doom. I've known her forever (literally) and
I think that must be the only time I ever blew up at someone like that (luckily
no documents were lost).
I must be getting old to get nostalgic over looking at a chapter written so long
ago and recalling all these things.
September 4th: Perro-chan
Cockatiel's are so adorable! I do agree Perro-chan does rather resemble a
cockatiel. I guess I'm the best one to answer the question... Perro-chan's
design is actually inspired off just a generic parakeet, though his actual breed
is not known. Yet. I don't know if that was helpful. :)

September 18th: New Trials CD Drama
Kirei-chan's voice is so pretty... You would have made a good Nadeshiko >.< I
was looking at the New Trials OST list I made so long ago...
http://wishluv.revolutionhosting.net/ost.htm Hmm... Strobe no Sora sounds like
an awful hard song to sing, but I'm always up for more Maaya goodness... ^_^
And good luck on interviews... Whew, reminds when I hopped around doing three
interviews in one day. And during the hour-long interview, I had go to the
bathroom... But that's a whole different story...
And many thanks to winxc1ub-chan for coming up with this project and organizing.
Sounds like so much fun I was thinking, Oh, I want to audition for Meilin or
something and then realized I should get writing. :P
October 19th: Pronouncing Syaoran’s Name
Thanks for the updates [about the New Trials CD Drama], winxc1ub-chan.
Amidst a stressful time, it's fun seeing how the project is coming along. ^_^
I'd definitely enjoy drawing some fanart once I get some time.
Just my two cents, this whole "Syaoran" versus "Xiao Lang" got me really
thinking into how I pronounce his name in my head. I was first introduced to his
name in the Korean dub version, where his name was pronounced, "Shaolang" or
more precisely "Li Sha-oh-rang." I think "Shaoran" used to be my most preferred
spelling of his name in the first place. Back in the beginning days of CCS,
there were many debates on the correct romanization of his name, before there
was official art with the English spelling of his name. As a writer, not a
seiyuu, I never really thought about the pronunciation, but I think I do
pronounce the "rang" more often than not in my head (and yes, I just came to
that realization.) The Japanese seiyuu pronounce "Shaoran" but I like to think
of it as a soft "n" which I think works as a good in-between to a hard "n" sound
and an "ng" sound. Personally, I think it's best to go with the Japanese dub
pronunciation, simply for consistencies' sake and because it is easier to look
up an episode of CCS to figure out how a name is pronounced (canon material)
than to try to be accurate to culture and language divergences. It's like seiyuu
Paku Romi, who is ethnically Korean, so technically her name should be "Park"
Romi. But she's in Japan, so Paku she is. ^_^
October 20th: Pronunciation, CLAMP + Sailor Moon
Haha... The site has been back "up" since I posted my last message, but I'm
still sorting out getting the ftp log-in access and information, hence waiting a
bit to announce that wishluv.revolutionhosting.net is back up "officially." Many
thanks to Robert, formally from revolutionhosting.net now at robswebsites.com
for the speedy transfer.
Regarding the whole Syaoran or Xiao Lang discussion, I'm rather enjoying it.
Lol. Since 4th grade, I thought that dwarf Gimli from Lord of the Rings was
pronounced "Jimlee" not "Ghimlee." I spent near ten years thinking that it was
"Jimlee" till the movies came out. Anyhow, I'm in the school of do as CLAMP
says. I almost forgot where the whole discussion stemmed from and then I
remembered, ah, yes, Drama CD. Lol... I would say halliwell_s summarized the
options well in the last post, and in my humble opinion, I feel like option 1
seems like the idea with least dispute since it is being most faithful to
CLAMP's interpretation.
Selenity, your post about CLAMP's romanization trends was very very
enlightening. You are right about the Korean romanization of Chun-hyang
(Choon-hyang)and Mong-ryong. But I have no problem with "Chunyan" in TRC.
Chun-hyang-Chunyan, Xiao Lang --> Syaoran; when in Rome, do as Romans do. Young
Chunyan was quite adorable in TRC--I would love to see a full anime OVA of her
story. The Legend of Chung-hyang is one of the 5 traditional Korean "pansori,"
lyrics sung in rhythm to a drum, usually telling a love story, and the
Chung-hyang-jeon is a very popular story with many reinterpretations in modern
media.
Eight, you know, I think I wondered the same thing about "Selenity" = Sailor
Moon's Serenity way back when I first saw the s/n. Sailor Moon was so popular
amongst the girls in my grade back in 5th grade, and we played "Sailor Moon." I
was stuck as Sailor Jupiter because I wore my hair in a long ponytail. Blegh. I
remember my favorite was Sailor Venus. My best friend (even now) used to wear
her hair long with a big bow in the back, so she was Sailor Venus. Sailor Moon
is the quintessential shoujo-est of shoujo anime, nee? But I never did get as
much into it as say, CCS. Though I still have a huge stack of Sailor Moon Cards.
^_^ I used to think the art was so pretty and magical.
October 27th: Future of New Trials
It's funny because the downfall of revolutionhosting.net also made me think of
how it might be nice to have a downloadable .pdf version of New Trials. I feel
like this is the beginning of a digital age and Kindle and I-Pads and whatnot,
so it might be a good idea for me to explore into different mediums where NT can
be readable.
To be truthful, my ultimate vision of New Trials is actually once and if I ever
finish it, I want to go back and edit all the chapters, especially for
uniformity especially in the earlier chapters. Then, I would perhaps want an
html version and pdf downloadable version. Over the past week, when I was at
loss about the whole moving servers business, I actually went back to edit the
earlier chapters (hey, the promise for a better, newer version of New Trials.
Lol). I got through about the Prologue to Chapter 5-ish, since the earlier
chapters were so short and also included a commentary at the end of each chapter
of my 10-years-later perspective. I was appalled at all the typos and whatnot
and hope to do a quality check of the earlier chapters pretty soon. I think my
ultimate ultimate vision is then having a chapter "cover" or some sort or
related fanart inserted for each chapter. :P (and perhaps a trailer for each
arc). So yes, there is still a lot of work to be done on this "project," one I
don't know is completely feasible, but hey, I like to dream big.
I'm not sure how I will proceed with the edits; the earlier chapters need it
more than the later chapters, so I might just do Arc 1 for the time being.
Publishing new chapters are priority. There have been many offers to beta edit
for me over the years, and I was grateful for the offers, but I think it works
best that I edit in the end, because I know best what needs editing. Either way,
I think I'm going to post up the edited version of NT first season in maybe
little blocks in between chapters.
Good news is that the move over to the new server and getting a new ftp account
and what not is 97-ish% finalized. It took a little over a week, 10 days, not
bad, eh? But it felt like a month to me and it was a very somber and reflective
time period. The address is going to stay the same, for familiarity's sake. I
guess my ultimate ultimate goal is one day get a wishluv.com domain or
something. Or as someone suggested, newtrials.net.
Chapter 67 is 70%(?) complete. That's an arbitrary number, because currently it
is at 77 pages. I'll be truthful, I was aiming for a Halloween release, but it's
not looking too good with birthdays and weddings and whatnot marking the end of
October. But we'll see where I get up to. :)
